Wang Sanyun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shan County, Shandong province. He was born in 1952, and joined the CPC in 1979. He reached the postgraduate level of the Party school of the CPC Central Committee.

He was an alternate member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committees. He was governor of Anhui province from 2008 to 2011, after many years of service to provincial CPC committees in Guizhou province. From 2011 to 2017 he was Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee.
