Wang Xuan, male, Han nationality, is a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1937,

Wang Xuan is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has long been engaged in computer language research and is the founder of a computerized laser photocomposition system for Chinese character typesetting, an invention he patented in Europe in 1982. In 1986 he was titled one of the middle and young experts making outstanding contributions to the national science and technology field.

Wang was a member of the standing committee of the 9th CPPCC National Committee and vice-chairman of the 10th Central Committee of the Jiu San (September 3) Society.
