Wang Zhigang, male, Han nationality, was born in 1958, graduated from the East China Petroleum Institute, obtained a master's degree from the University of Petroleum, and received a doctorate from the Geology and Geophysics Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. He is a senior engineer. He served as director-general of the exploration and production department of the Sinopec Corporation until 2005, and in that same year he was promoted as senior vice-president of the corporation. He is a member of the 17th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
