Biography

Liu Tienan, male, was born in Beijing in 1954, is a native of Qi County of Shanxi Province. He joined the CPC in 1976 and held a Doctorate Degree in Engineering Science, and Master Degree in Economics. From 2006 to 2008, He was Vice Director of Office for State Revitalize Old Industrial Bases in Northeast. From 2008 to 2013, he was Vice Minister and Member of Leading Party Members’ Group of National Development and Reform Commission. From 2-11 to 2013, he also served as the Director of the National Energy Administration. In August 2013, Lie was removed from all of his posts and repelled from CPC Party Membership due to his violation of CPC Discipline. In 2014, he was on trial in public for economic criminal prosecution.
