Biography

Ma Xiaotian, male, Han nationality, is a native of Gongyi City, Henan province. He was born in 1949, joined the CPC in 1969, joined the Chinese PLA in 1965, and graduated from the 12th Aviation School with the academic credentials of junior college. He is an air marshal and was made deputy chief of staff of the air force in 1997. Ma was a member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committees.

From 2007 to 2012, he was Deputy Chief of the PLA General Staff. From 1995 to 2000, he was Major General, PLA. From 2000 to 2009, he was Lieutenant General, PLA. He was promoted to General in 2009. Since October 2012, he is Commander-in-Chief of Air Force of PLA.

In 2012 he became member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 18th CPC Central Military Commission.
