Biography
Meng Hongwei, male, Han nationality, is a native of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He was born in 1953, entered the work force in 1972, and joined the CPC in 1975. He graduated from Law Department of Beijing University with a Bachelor Degree in Law, and from Central South University with a Master Degree. He is Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Public Security since 2004.
From 2013 to 2017 he was Deputy Director of the State Oceanic Administration and Director of the Maritime Police Bureau.
