Biography

Song Fatang, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tancheng, Shandong Province. He was born in 1940, joined the CPC in 1961, and graduated from Qufu Normal College.

In the mid-1980's Song held leading positions in the CPC Tai'an City Committee and in 1985 he became mayor of Tai'an City. In the 1990's he held senior positions in the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, and in 2000 he was elected governor of Heilongjiang Province.

Song Fatang served as an alternate member of the 15th CPC Central Committee and is currently a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee.
