Biography

Wel Fenghe, male, Han nationality, is a native of Chiping County, Liaocheng City of Shandong Province. He was born in 1954, started to work in 1970, and joined the CPC in 1972. He was an alternate member of the 17th CPC Central Committee, Chief of Staff of the PLA Second Artillery Forces from 2006 to 2012. Wei holds a post-graduate degree.

From 2004 to 2008, he was Major General of PLA. From 2008 to 2012, he was Lieutenant General of PLA. Since November 2012, he is General of PLA. From October 2012 to 2016 he was Commander-in-Chief of 2nd Artillery Force, PLA. In 2012 he became member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 18th CPC Central Military Commission. In 2016 he became Commander of the PLA Rocket Force.

In 2017 Wei became a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 19th CPC Central Military Commission. In 2018 he was appointed State Councilor of the State Council and Minister of the Ministry of National Defense.
