Chen Jiangsheng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Fuzhou, Fujian Province. He was born in 1938 and graduated from Beijing University in 1963 with a major in astrophysics. In his professional field he did research at the Beijing Observatory, was a member of the mathematics and physics division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and from 1998 on was director of the Beijing Astrophysical Center.
