Chen Xingdong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Fujian province. He was born in 1960, graduated from Beijing University with a master's degree in economics and studied at Oxford University as a visiting postgraduate. In 1988, Chen was appointed as an economic consultant by the China Department of the World Bank in Washington D.C. He became chief economist of the BNP Paribas Peregrine Securities Limited Company in 1997.
