Ding Shisun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. Ding was born in 1927, graduated from Qinghua University and joined the China Democratic League in 1952.
Ding spent much of this career in academia. He began as a lecturer and professor in the mathematics department at Beijing University and later became president of the university. Ding also served in leadership positions in various mathematical societies. He is the author of several textbooks.
Ding was vice-chairman of the 9th NPC standing committee. He was also a member of the 7th CPPCC National Committee and a standing committee member of the 8th CPPCC National Committee.
