Fang Weizhong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Haicheng, Liaoning Province. He was born in 1928. From 1947 to 1949, he studied at Northeast China University and Northeast China Teachers‘ University. Fang joined the CPC in 1950.
After two years of university studies, Fang began his career working at the CPC Northeast Bureau. He spent the 1950s and 1960s involved in research. In 1961, he worked as a researcher at the CPC Central Committee. In 1977, he became the Vice-Minister of the State Planning Commission and deputy secretary of its Leading Party Group.
He was an alternate member of the 12th and 14th CPC Central Committees and a member of the 13th CPC Central Committee. He served as a member of the standing committee of the 8th and 9th CPPCC National Committees.
