Gao Zhenjia, male, Han nationality, is a native of Liaoning Province. He was born in 1929 and joined the Northeast China Democratic United Army in 1946. In 1948, he joined the CPC and fought in the Liaoxi-Shenyang Battle. He holds the rank of vice admiral.
Gao has spent much of his military career affiliated with the PLA Navy. He served as a captain on a PLA naval vessel from 1955-1964 and then became a deputy chief and chief commander of a PLA naval vessel detachment in 1964. Gao also served as the deputy commander of the PLA Navy from 1973-1979. At the beginning of the 1980s, Gao assumed the vice presidency of the PLA Navy Submarine School. He later became president at the school.
In 1988, Gao became the deputy commander of the Guangzhou Military Region. At the same time, he was made the commander of the PLA Navy South China Fleet.
Gao was a member of the 8th CPPCC National Committee. He is a Standing Committee member of the 9th CPPCC National Committee.
