Ji Baocheng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu province. He was born in 1944, graduated from Beijing Business College, and obtained a master's degree in economics.
Professor Ji focuses his research on commodity circulation, trade, economics and marketing. His academic works include "Higher Education at the Turn of the New Century" and "Studies of Market Order in the Transitional Economy." He has been an honorary professor for over twenty universities in China and abroad. He was granted the honorary doctorate by Soka University in Japan, and Pukyong National University in Korea. He was also awarded the title of expert at the ministerial level by the Ministry of Domestic Trade.
Ji became president of the Renmin University of China in 2000. He was a representative to the 10th NPC.
