Li Fashen, male, Han nationality, is a native of Chongqing. He was born in 1940, and graduated from the physics department of Lanzhou University. He became president of Lanzhou University in 1993. Professor Li is in charge of the university's research division and served as the vice-director of the National Heavy Ion Physics Laboratory. He is currently teaching and researching in the fields of solid state physics, magnetism and magnetic materials, Missbauer spectroscopy and spin echo nuclear magnetic resonance.
He was a deputy to the 9th and 10th NPC.
