Li Xiaopeng, son of China’s Ex-Premier Li Peng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Chengdu, Sichuan Pprovince. He was born in 1959, entered the work force in 1982 and joined the CPC in 1985. Li graduated from the North China Institute of Electric Power specializing in power plants and power systems in 1982. He is a senior engineer.
From 2008-2010, Li served as Member of Leading Party Group and Vice Governor of Shanxi Provincial Government. He is currently Chairman of Board of the Directors of Huaneng Power International, Inc. In 2010 he became Deputy Secretary of Leading Party Group and Executive Vice-Governor of Shanxi Province. From 2013 to 2016 he served as Governor of Shanxi Province. In 2012 he became an Alternate Member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and in 2017 he became a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. In 2018 he became Minister of the Ministry of Transport.
