Liu Jinan, female, Han nationality, is a native of Xiaogan County, Hubei province. She was born in 1939, and graduated from Beijing University. She became president of the
Communication University of China in 1997.
In the 1960s, Professor Liu focused her research on international relations and the mass media. She led the study titled "China's International Relations and the Mass Media." She also led a series of key research projects, including "A Strategic Study on Chinese Radio and Television Development".
