Qiu Xiaohua, male, is of Han nationality. He was born in 1958, attended Xiamen University and Stanford University in the USA, and studied international finance as a postgraduate at Beijing Normal University.
Qiu has focused on macroeconomics and comprehensive statistics, as well as economic reform and development in China. He has held leading positions at the State Statistics Bureau and in 1998 he served as assistant governor of Anhui Province. Qiu has taught as a part-time professor at several universities, including the Xi'an College of Statistics, and in 1999 he became the deputy director of the State Statistics Bureau and in 2006 he became director. Qiu Xiaohua has also worked as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
