Chen Guizun, male, Han nationality, was born in Hong Kong in 1931. His ancestral home is in Haifeng, Guangdong Province, and his grandfather was Chen Yansheng, one of founding members of the China Zhi Gong Party (Public Interest) Party. Chen majored in physics at Beijing University and after graduation taught at various geological and metallurgical institutions for about 20 years.
He served twice as vice-governor of Jiangxi Province beginning in 1985. In the China Democratic League, Chen has held various positions at the provincial and national level. He was also active in the CPPCC and the NPC, serving as a deputy in the 8th NPC and a member of the standing committee of the 9th NPC. He is now in his second term as vice-chairman of the standing committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress.
