Li Changjiang, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang Province. He was born in 1944, received higher education and joined the CPC in 1965.
Li's early career was spent in Jilin Province, where he was occupied with student activities, organizations, and research on juvenile problems. By 1995, he had moved to Zhejiang Province, first as assistant to the governor and later as vice-governor. In 1999, he moved to Beijing to assume senior positions in the customs sector, and in 2001, he became Director, State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. He resigned as director of that institution in 2008.
Li was a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and is now a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
