Ma Shengrong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Jiande, Zhejiang Province. He was born in l946, graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Languages, and did postgraduate work at the University of London, United Kingdom.
Ma has spent his entire career working for the Xinhua News Agency, serving as an editor, a foreign correspondent, and as a senior official of the agency. He is also an author, and has won the Zou Taofen Press Award for his work.
