Wang Ke, male, Han nationality, was born in 1931 in Xiaoxian, Anhui Province. He first became associated with the PLA in 1944 and he joined the Party in 1947.
Wang was an artillery officer during his early career and participated both in the Chinese civil war and in the Korean War. After returning to China, he held posts at the battalion commander, deputy regimental commander and political commissar levels before being sent to the PLA Military Academy, from which he graduated in 1980. He later served as division commander and army commander and was promoted to lieutenant general in 1988 and general in 1994.
Wang was a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees. In 1995, he was assigned to the CPC Central Military Commission, appointed to the PRC Central Military Commission, and named director of the PLA General Logistics Department.
