Biography

Wang Xiaoling, female, Han nationality, is a native of Mouping, Shandong province. She was born in 1955, joined the CPC in 1978, and finished her education as a postgraduate at the Provincial Academy of Social Science. She has been studying as a doctoral candidate of political ethics at Central South University. She is also a part time professor at the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of the South China University of Technology and one of the "Top Ten Women in Economics in China of 2005". Wang Xiaoling is in charge of trade, tourism, material supply, family planning, industry and commerce administration, technological supervision, supervisory management of foodstuff and medicine, the Overseas Chinese Office, and the Economic Cooperation Office. She is also responsible for overseeing women's work. She was elected vice-mayor of Guangzhou in 2003.
