Xia Jiajun, male, Tujia nationality, is a native of Miao, Tujia Autonomous Prefecture of Xiangxi, Hunan Province. He graduated from Nankai University in 1968 and joined the China Association for Promotion of Democracy in 1986.
Xia Jiajun spent the early years of his career as an educator with various middle schools in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. Xia then went on to become an associate research fellow and a research fellow with two other academic institutions. Xia has published People's Daily articles on measures against corruption in ancient China and is the author of books on legal and law histories in China.
Xia is a Standing Committee member of the 9th CPPCC National Committee, a research fellow and professor with China University of Political Science and Law.
