Zha Peixin, male, Han nationality, is a native of Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1946 and is a university graduate.
Zha spent twelve years in the North American and Oceania Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a staff member, deputy division chief, and ultimately deputy department chief.
In 1990, he became the counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Canada. Following a three year stint at the foreign affairs office at State Council, Zha was made ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Canada in 1996; he served in that capacity until 1998.
Before becoming ambassador to Great Britain and Ireland in 2002, Zha was deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Central Committee at the CPC.
