Zhong Qunpeng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shangyu, Zhejiang Province. He was born in 1934 and studied at the Jinhua Senior Middle School. Zhong studied at Tsinghua University and graduated from the Beijing Aviation College, with a metallographic thermal treatment major, in 1957
Zhong served as a teacher at Beijing Aviation College, and also held the chief lab position and deputy chief post in the teaching and research office. A longtime fixture at the college, he was a vice-professor before being promoted to a professorship in 1985. Zhong continued his ascent when he was promoted to teach doctoral students in 1993.
In his research capacity, he has focused his studies on invalidity analysis and prevention in China. He has published frequently, including more than 149 papers. Considered an outstanding teacher, he has won 11 ministry-level prizes.
A member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering since 1999, Zhong joined the academy's machinery and carrying engineering department in 2000. In addition, he served as chief of the material invalidity analysis, forecast, and prevention research institute at Beijing Aviation and Spaceflight University. The university also made him a member of the degree appraisal committee.
