Tao Siju, male, Han nationality, is a native of Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1935, joined the CPC in 1949 and studied at the Central Public Security Cadres School.
Tao began his career as an office clerk in the Ministry of Public Security in Jingjiang, Jiangsu. He also served as a secretary of the general office of the Central Military Commission prior to becoming Minister of Public Security in 1990. He then held various leadership positions in the People's Armed Police Force
Tao was a standing committee member of the 9th NPC.
He is currently 1st Political Commissar of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force and Vice-Chairman of NPC Committee for Internal and Judicial Affairs.
